Wax carving is an ancient tradition in jewellery making going back 6000 years. Starting with a piece of jewellers wax, it is carved, sawn and filed down into the shape required like a sculptor working with stone.

 

More organic shapes that are hard to achieve with traditional sheet metal and wire can be made and a skilled carver can create detail easily on a par with digital CAD model makers.

 

This technique, which has been developed over many centuries, provides jewellery makers and sculptors alike with exciting new designs for their repertoire!
