Jeff McCue started in the jewellery business in 1970 at the age of 15, slowly, over time progressing from polishing jewellery to soldering and finishing hand-made pieces. Always interested in engineering, the next stage was over 20 years of tool making and model making for casting.
Establishing JMG in 1995 there came a long and busy spell of jewellery repair work.
From 2005 a decade of automated machine building for the ear- piercing industry arose. Recently through lock down a new bench tool was designed.
Realising what is required this system has been designed to give the jobbing jeweller or budding amateur as much versatility as they could wish for.
Unique features, such as 3 different radius brass supports to suit varied ring sizes, give more support to jobs. Drills and burrs can safely cut through your work with minimal risk of breakages or tool damage.
The unique, quick and easy height adjustment allows the job to be adjusted firmly and safely positioned to the required height.
A quick - change reversible wooden peg is included. Recently new optional features have been offered.
A lock-in peg vice not only allows large pieces to be held but also thin sheet is held in vee shaped tough swivelling nylon jaws.
For those who like to hold in shellac or other fixing compounds there is an aluminium disc held firmly for this job.
This vice system still can be moved and rotated with ease or locked into position.
