This elegant ring has been made in sterling silver and features a well known Irish motif. Claddagh ring (Irish: fáinne Chladaigh) symbolises love, friendship and loyalty (represented with a heart, hands and a crown respectively) and is traditionally used as an engagement or wedding ring, however nowadays it is increasingly popular as a gift for any beloved person, be it a lover, friend, child or parent. The design originated in the 17th century in or close to the small fishing village of Claddagh in Co. Galway, on the west coast of Ireland.
